A Little About Me

~Chris LeDoux~

Welcome to my blog,

The content here is nothing more than a place to journal my endless obsession with horses.

My name: Susan Murphy. I turned 59 ears old this spring. I am the widow of Ron Murphy. Mother to Chris Kennedy. Grandmother to Makayla, Sydni and Krysta. I’ve been married for 30 years. I have two horses, two dogs, and two parakeets. I work as a Pet Stylist in Dallas, Texas. I love my job. My hobby is my horses. With more than 40 years in the saddle, I’m still trying to master a better seat. After having lost nearly 50 lbs, it’s still a daily challenge working on getting fit and balanced. My goal is to get healthier, not high school skinny. It’s a never ending ‘battle of the bulge’ at my age.

  1. Nice intro Susan, you sound like a very nice person very down to earth and grounded. you have a nice place here and I will drop by from time to time to see what is going on in the Great State of Texas!

I lived in Spicewood for around 10 years, worse mistake I ever made was leaving the Lone Star

Why, thank you, sir. I really enjoyed reading parts of your blog, and I’m not through yet. Keep up the good work! The “Great State of Texas” needs more critical thinking and common sense. Come by and sit a spell anytime. I’ll enjoy having you.

      • Editor says:

The Great Country of the USA, the entire world needs more Americans, this is the point. Americans, meaning what I say and what you know I mean. Thanks to Texas there is still hope. Take care!

  2. Hi, was think about you this morning because we are like minded 🙂

A couple of places I thought you may be interested in, one is a really cool news source and the other a group of “like minded” conservatives in more or less a chat environment just sharing info and thoughts.

Politi Chicks, a neat place you may enjoy, good stuff there.

Conservatives Together, a gathering place to shoot the bull and hang out.

    Have a Great day!

Ditto! I joined Conservatives Together. It looks interesting for sure. I’ve been on the PolitiChicks site. All this stuff flies right over my head. I’m just common folk, “that can no longer”, be easily swayed one way or another. I like that saying…

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

      Cheers, Susan

Parmesan cheese, the real one from our hills, is a great solution to stay in shape with soooo much taste. Come visit us in Italy, thanks for your stories, Marco

I’ll take your advice. Thanks for stopping by. Love your blog.

      • Hi Susan, I write the Arrowstar Series about adventurous women of the American Southwest. I’m in Arizona, but not a horsewoman. I signed up to follow your blog because I think your stories will be a great help when I’m writing. My characters have horses and live in ranch country, so I need to know more about what that means. So far I think the books live up to the Western Woman image, but I would love your opinion on my writing. So far the three books in the series are Arrowstar, Charade, and The Storm Women. I’m now working on book 4, A Train Robber’s Tale. I would love it if you agree to answer some questions I might have about horses while I’m writing. You can reach me at ckthomas@cox.net. I’d love hearing from you. You can get my books either in paperback or e-books at http://amzn.to/1tiN7zt if you’re interested. Sincerely, Cheryl

        Hi Cheryl,
I’m glad you stopped by. I don’t know how much help I’d be, but would be happy to help you in any way I can. Feel free to contact me any time. Sincerely, Susan

Thanks, Susan. I’ve been watching some horse training videos online, and I’m fascinated. I clicked over using a link I found on your blog. It’s the Australian horse trainer. I don’t need to go into a lot of detail when my characters are around their horses. I just need to be able to find the right words and refer to the proper equipment etc. The stories don’t center on horses, but the characters do interact with their horses at some points in the stories. If you’re interested in reading the Arrowstar novels to see what I mean, go to http://www.amazon.com/author/ckthomas

You are so brave to start it up all over again! I’m sure you’re an inspiration for many other riders who are wondering if it’s all worth it, worth the risks…
    Be proud of your self!
And happy with the horses 🙂

It’s women like you, who’ve kept me going. Stories like yours, that inspire us all to achieve things we thought weren’t possible. I may be a silent contributor to others blogs, but I notice. I applaud you all. It wasn’t until I met Jewels, my current project, did I know where my life would lead. She’s taught me strength, determination, honesty and humility. Things, I thought, only other people could teach. She’s a gift from God. Thanks for your kind words. Happy horsing around!
