Spring is in the air and summer’s on the rise. It’s time to get my horses ready for a new riding season. We’ve all had plenty of time off. Time enough for both my self and my horse to heal from leg injuries. I finally found a phenomenal farrier who’s given my mare a new lease on life. Jerzey’s right knee has been lame so long, I thought it would never get better. Hence why I bought Jewels in the first place. I needed something else to ride. I’ve since let my grand daughter have Jewels. I’m back riding my own trusty steed. Jerzey is such an awesome animal. She always takes things in stride. Never getting out of sorts in spite of my lack of mobility on the ground.
I attended a recent Clinton Anderson Walk About Tour in Lufkin, Texas. I bought a new saddle that let’s me have the freedom I need to loosen up these tired old bones. And what a saddle it is. I love the way it rides. The free swinging stirrups and balanced seat gives us both a comfortable ride. It fits beautifully and it has no bulk any where. Her and I are one with the other again. I’m certainly not going to spend to much time blogging about our riding. I’d rather be working with my horses. However, I will keep updating our progress from week to week. Stay tuned for more. Right now, I’m simply HighOnHorses!
