Ride: Day 1

I gave it 24 hours after the farrier came out, to start Mouse on the Previcox. Just like the veterinarian prescribed. One dose each day for 10 days, and ride him lightly every day. Last night was the first ride. There was a noticeable difference in the way he traveled. Not a good change. He was stumbling a bit more than usual. Even when he was in hand. The angle of his hooves were slightly off from what I could tell. Though not being to labored, I rode him. He was hitting the ground solid, but never the less, stumbled on occasion. We didn’t ride more than 2 miles and then returned to the house. I rode him with my english saddle, so he didn’t have a heavier load to carry on his first trip out. I’ll probably do this the remainder of the rehab. This morning, his gait is a little more extended. This is much better than yesterday evening. Oh, and, never let the husband halter the horse! ha ha Off to work…
